KARACHI, Nov 24: Pakistan Cricket Board’s Coordinator of Sindh Grounds, Razaullah Khan has clarified his position with reference to a news item published in this newspaper on Sunday, Nov 23.
In a rejoinder sent to Dawn on Monday, Razaullah wrote: “I have been appointed PCB Coordinator of Sindh Grounds on the basis of my professional expertise, experience and track record.
The PCB chairman Ijaz Butt is a man of integrity who took the decision of appointing me without any favouritism and nepotism. I have reasons to believe that I am the right person to look after the process of cricket development in Sindh.”
“I have worked in the administration departments of many reputable organizations besides having handled sports affairs there. I may be lacking in education but not in professional acumen.
“I was also appointed by PCB in 1999 for a six-year period. I am simply overseeing all grounds, including National Stadium, Karachi and I have nothing to do with the sacking of any employee.”
“Let me clarify that I had planned the Benazir Bhutto (Shaheed) Tournament before joining the PCB and it would not have been fair to have left the job incomplete at this late stage.”
