KARACHI, Nov 22: Derby winner five-year-old chestnut Gold Krik is in line to add another feather to his cap when he appears in The Shah Mardan Shah Pir Pagara Double Birthday Cup in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

He has specially come from Lahore carrying strong credentials and is highly rated to run away with the honours in the nine furlongs cup, a handicap race for three-year-old and above horses.

Gold Krik is to be ridden by Lahore’s prominent jockey Shahid Rehman, a Pride of Performance holder.

Those who come in the reckoning for places in a field of nine are fillies Claim To Fame and The Victorious.

Two-year-old bay filly Lil Kimm with a win and a place to her credit in three outings looks smart to overcome opponents by claiming The Neario Stakes, a handicap race for two-year-old colts and fillies.

With Ghulam Shabbir II in the saddle, the filly is poised to make amends for the loss in The Sire Produce Stakes on last Sunday.

She is likely to be chased by fillies After Shock and Magnificent Baby in the five furlongs fifth race.

Stablemates filly Sugar Sweet and colt Sayeen Jee are tipped to present owner Pir Pagara with winners in the fourth and ninth races.

With a hat-trick under her belt, Sugar Sweet is predicted to stretch her winning run by overcoming challengers Play Boy and Reyan The Great whereas Sayeen Jee who finished off the board in its last outing after making it two on the trot looks poised to rule the concluding race.

Afroze Jehan and Spice Of Arab should battle it out for places.

Three-year-old bay filly Black Velvet who is making her appearance after over two month layoff, may oblige punters should she land the earlier race.

Catch It, Eager Saint and Lucky Gem looks certain to shine in the first three races while bay Cash Deposit should dominate the sixth race.
