DADU, Nov 20: Taluka Council Dadu passed a no confidence resolution against its Naib Nazim Syed Ali Murad Shah on Thursday during a meeting chaired by senior presiding officer Altaf Ahmed Samoon.
Council member Ghulam Anwar Mallah moved the no confidence resolution against the PML-Q backed Naib Nazim Syed Ali Murad Shah stating that he had lost the confidence of members and forgot his responsibilities.
Out of the 22 council members, 19 were present while 17 used their right to vote through secret ballot against Syed Ali Murad Shah, while one member Habibullah Lund and presiding officer Altaf Ahmed Samoon did not use their vote.
PPP backed members Sohrab Khan Solangi, Najeebullah Panhwar, Abdul Majeed Jamali, Shamsuddin Babbar, Farrukh Memon, Abdul Razzaq Solangi, Farooq Ahmed Panhwar, Soni Solangi, Sakina Samoon, Hawa Panhwar and Imam Zadi Soomro said that the convener was not delivering any thing to the council as he had made the house non-functional and hatching conspiracies against members.
The PML-Q backed member Habibullah Lund said that Naib Nazim Syed Ali Murad Shah was running temperature and unable to attend meeting, hence no confidence resolution should be postponed. Majority demanded the resolution and secret voting to carry on.
Meanwhile, members of Union Council Pyaro Goth submitted no confidence letter duly signed by them in the office of the TMO Dadu against their union council Naib Nazim and senior presiding officer of Taluka council Altaf Ahmed Samoon.
Awam Dost members after counting ballots went to the residence of Senior Minister Pir Mazharul Haq and met the PPP leader Barrister Pir Mujeebul Haq.
The resolution was sent to Chief Election Commissioner, Assistant Election Commissioner Dadu, and Secretary Sindh Local Government and demanded election for new Taluka Naib Nazim within 10 days.
FUEL SHORTAGE: Some 12 petrol pumps remained closed because of the unavailability of petrol. Petroleum prices fixed by the government had not been implemented as dealers were charging more from consumers.
People of Dadu were facing problems due to shortage of high speed, light speed diesel, premier super petrol.
Office-bearers of Petrol Dealers Association Sikandar Ali Khokhar, Hafiz Jamali and Sikandar Ali Khoonharo said that they were forced to close petrol pumps because of the deficiency of petroleum products.
