HYDERABAD: Tando Allahyar dist nazim acquitted
By Our Staff Correspondent
HYDERABAD, Nov 19: The additional district judge-III of Hyderabad on Wednesday acquitted Tando Allahyar District Nazim Dr Rahila Gul Magsi, her brother Dr Irfan Gul Magsi, her husband Abdul Fayyaz Shaikh and a number of union council nazims of charges levelled against them in a case of attempted murder.
The case was lodged by Khair Mohammad Marri on June 28 who alleged that the accused had attacked them at the instance of Dr Rahila Magsi when they were going to attend budget session of the district council.
The accused had obtained pre-arrest bails from the sessions court for a sum of Rs25,000 each.
Defence counsel Azizullah Khwaja presented in court reinvestigation report conducted by SP investigations of Tando Allahyar on the last date of hearing.
The counsel said that according to the report his clients Dr Rahila Magsi, Dr Irfan Gul Magsi and Abdul Fayyaz Sheikh were innocent.
The court acquitted the accused for lack of evidence and on merit, declaring that it did not find any evidence which could meet the ingredients of section 324 PPC.
Mr Marri had lodged the case when district nazim Dr. Rahila Magsi had left after presenting budgetary estimates before the district council on June 28. She had sought help of rangers for escorting her to the district council because she had expected strong reaction by PPP activists.
