KARACHI, Nov 19: Nine ships carrying rock phosphate, steel coil and to load ethanol and general cargo are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships, APL Yokohama, Montania, Deja Bhum, Sima Sehba, to unload and load containers, Rising Om to offload oil and Golden Arrow-2 to load bulk cargo were berthed on Wednesday.

Sailing was also maintained on the higher side as eight ships departed on Wednesday after loading various export consignments, including cement and rice.

They are: Kota Segar, Union Anna, Mol Admiration, India Express, Han Sprinter, Ainaftis, OBS Awathy and Island Star,

Another eight, including Sima Sahba, Montania, Galaxy Ace, Serpentine, APL Yokohama, Caribbean Carrier-1, Rising Om and Golden Arrow-2, are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was fairly brisk where a total tonnage of 0.103m tons, comprising 50, 627 tons of export tonnage, including 7, 864 tons of rice and 52, 384 tons of import tonnage, was handled on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Bow Fuji, with chemicals and to load ethanol, Johar, with crude oil, Grace-A to unload jet oil, Chemway Arrow to load ethanol, Sima Paya, Harmony, with containers, Mordana, with 14, 400 tons of rock phosphate, Brilliant Pescadores, with general cargo and Geo Milev, with steel coils.
