ISLAMABAD, Nov 18: A devastating spell from Pakistan paceman Sohail Tanvir helped Federal Areas hit back against Balochistan in the vital RBS Pentangular Cup match at the Diamond Club Ground here on Tuesday.

The left-armer claimed all six wickets to fall in Balochistan’s first innings after Federal Areas were dismissed for 146 on an eventful opening day of the last-round league fixture.

After being put into bat by Balochistan skipper Abdur Rauf, who returned home with the victorious Pakistan squad on Monday, Federal Areas were reeling at 61 for six at one stage. But all-rounder Yasir Arafat struck six boundaries to top-score with 32 to help his side get a fighting total.

Bilal Khilji, part-time medium-pacer, caused most of the damage with figures of four for 13 in 9.5 overs. Left-arm paceman Nazar Hussain finished with 3-41.

However, Balochistan’s top-order crumbled against the swing bowling of Sohail, who had taken six for 10 in eight overs as the visitors found themselves reeling at 33 for six when play ended because of poor light.
