Pakistan beat Wales: Chess Olympiad

KARACHI, Nov 18: The Pakistan trio of Mohammad Waqar, Haseeb Ahmed and Khalil-ur-Rehman Butt notched up victories as Pakistan routed Wales 3.5 – 0.5 in the fifth round of the 38th Chess Olympiad in Dresden, Germany.

According to the information received here on Tuesday, Waqar and Haseeb looked to be in excellent form as they collected four points each.

Amir Karim secured just one-and-a-half point while Khalil Butt scored three points.

Pakistan women’s team got a bye and received two points in the fifth round.—APP
