State land retrieved

TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 18: The district administration has got vacated state land at Pirmahal from the `qabza groups’.

An official said that Kamalia TMA employees led by district officer (revenue) Aslam Lakhvera and Kamalia DDO(R) Shahid Zaman Lak demolished walls raised around vacant plots.

Influentials backed by local politicians had occupied urban land worth more than Rs100 million in the town for the last one year.

DCO Ch Muhammad Ashraf told newsmen that most of the occupants had built boundary walls to show their "ownership" and each had occupied more than 30 marlas of land. —Correspondent
