Published November 19, 2008

LARKANA, Nov 18: Protesting over the alleged threat of the new superintendent of jail for shifting the hardened criminals to other jails, the prisoners in central prison of Larkana on Tuesday climbed over the roof tops of the jail and refused to give what they technically call ‘total’ to the jail officials. They burnt old clothes and raised slogans against the new administration.

It was learnt that the new superintendent of jail Muzaffar Alam Siddiki talked to a group of prisoners to calm down the situation but in vain. The security inside the jail was beefed up to check any untoward situation. Till filing of this report the prisoners were protesting.
