Mazhar wins nine swimming gold medals

KARACHI, Nov 17: The Karachi Club’s brother duo of Mazhar Naqvi and Mustafa Naqvi put outstanding performance in the 48th Sindh Age Group swimming championship which concluded at the Habib Public School on Sunday.

Mazhar, who has the honour of representing Pakistan in World, SAF and Junior Commonwealth Games, showed his class free style, butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and individual medley in under-16 and open categories.

The 15-year-old was declared the best swimmer of the competition after winning nine gold and four silver medals.

His younger brother Mustafa emerged as the best U-16 swimmer by grabbing three gold, three silver and four bronze medals.

The Habib School won the competition for record 15th time in a row by accumulating 304 points.

Karachi Grammar School finished second with 162 points while Karachi Club claimed the third position with 115 points.
