RAWALPINDI, Nov 17: Lawyers on Monday observed complete boycott of court proceedings both at high court and district courts in protest against suspension of license of Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) President Altaf Afridi by Pakistan Bar Council (PBC).
General-Secretary of High court bar Malik Saddique Awan while talking to Dawn said Altaf Afridi license was suspended because he used to criticise the bar council for creating hurdles in the on-going movement of the legal fraternity for the return of the deposed judges.
The lawyers abstained from appearing in the courts and stopped others from pursuing their cases.
The lawyers also observed hunger strike at district bar.
The representatives of both high court bar and district bar roamed around the court premises to ensure that no lawyer appeared before any judge.
