Published November 18, 2008

KARACHI, Nov 17: The district coordination officer of Karachi, Javed Hanif, has been asked to carry out a feasibility study and prepare a plan for the construction of a ring road around Karachi to facilitate the movement of heavy traffic.

The ring road would start from Keamari, pass through Mai Kolachi, Sunset Boulevard, Hino Chowk Flyover, Korangi Road and Super Highway bypass, and be back to Keamari.

The plan was disclosed during a recent meeting between the adviser to the prime minister, Dr Asim Hussain, and Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman.

Projects and measures to improve transport facilities for commuters in the city and in other major cities of the province were discussed in the meeting.
