PNF announces technical committee

KARACHI, Nov 15: The Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) on Saturday announced the technical committee and rules for the 8th National Women’s Netball Championship to be held at the Islamia College for Women in Faisalabad from Nov 19 to 21.

The championship, being held in collaboration with the Punjab Netball Association (PNA), Faisalabad Netball Association (FNA) and the Pakistan Sports Trust, features 10 teams, namely, Police, Wapda, Punjab Blues, Punjab Whites, Sindh Greens, Sindh Greys, NWFP, Balochistan, Islamabad and Lahore Grammar School (LGS).

The teams would be divided into various pools with the matches to be played on a round-robin basis.

While announcing the technical committee for the championship, PNF President Capt (retd) Zafar Iqbal Awan said the committee with Mian Asim Bashir, Mudassar Arain, Aijaz-ul-Haq, Khalid Pervaiz and Syed Tauqeer Ahmed as its members and Abdul Razzak Arain as the chairman, would also be responsible for off-field technical matters.

The team managers’ meeting will be held at the Crescent Sports Complex, Faisalabad, at 7.30pm on Nov 18.

The top six teams in the championship would qualify for the 31st National Games to be held in Peshawar next year.
