KARACHI, Nov 15: Four-year-old bay filly Sugar Sweet is on course to complete a hat trick of victories should she land the opener in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

She galloped to facile wins twice under rider Mohammad Essa and her current form speaks that she will come out with flying colours again.

Promoted to division II of class VII she start as our day’s best and in all probability will again oblige the punters besides of course, the combination of owner-trainer-rider.

Only colt Mr Mention Not and, to some extent, filly Novaho’s Glory stand out among others to follow her footsteps in a field of seven.

Five-year-old bay The Conqueror looks smart to make amends and overcome rivals by claiming the six furlongs feature event which is the next race on the card.

Beaten by a distance by Crown Prince in its last outing, The Conqueror should have to produce his best to beat form horses Afroze Jehan and Closing Arguments.

Sugar Sweet’s stable mate colt Haram Tob is tipped to shine in the third race by making amends.

Filly Nyx and mare Princess Rozi should battle it out for the places.

Either of the two — fillies Lil Kimm or Stratusfaction — whosoever is backed by the connection, should capture The Sire Produce Stakes which is restricted to two-year-old colts and fillies.

It was cancelled after being run for want of competition last week and drew criticism from punters who were of the view that the youngsters should be encouraged and tried.

This time it has a field of 14 runners including three debutants as compared to eight run last time.

Fillies After Shock and Ice Blue are likely to battle it out for the places.

Three-year-old bay colt Play Boy, unknown pedigree Catch It and three-year-old chestnut colt Dream Prince are our fancy in the other three races.

A card of seven races including a cup has been drawn for the day and the first race gets into action at 1:00pm.
