LAYYAH, Nov 15: The local additional sessions judge (ASJ) has dismissed the bail petition filed by an 11-year-old suspect for allegedly molesting a nine-year-old girl.

On Oct 6, the court had rejected Mujahid Husain’s interim bail in FIR No 302 dated Sept 2, 2008, registered under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code on which the Sadar police arrested him.

On Saturday, the ASJ dismissed Mujahid’s post-arrest bail and sent him to jail again.

Mujahid Husain, of Basti Shadu Khan, is accused of raping (T) when she was returning home after buying vegetables from a shop. Girl’s father Saifullah alleged that Mujahid took (T) to a nearby sugarcane field where he raped her.

Sub-inspector (SI) Ashiq Husain, who is investigation officer, told Dawn that the accused was arrested after receiving semen’s report positive from the chemical examiner. However, the SI said, the result of DNA test was yet to be received.

Talking to Dawn, Mujahid pleaded his innocence. Mujahid’s father Riaz Husain alleged that his son was 11 years old. He said that the case against his son was fake one and a local influential in collaboration with medical staff had hatched a conspiracy against him and his family.
