HYDERABAD, Nov 15: Educational institutions are advised to focus not only on formal but also technical education for enabling the youth of today serve the country more resourcefully, said Acting Governor and Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly Ms Shehla Raza.

She said this while meeting the Vice Chancellor Zafarul Islam and faculty of University of East, Latifabad Hyderabad on Friday.

It was the responsibility of the higher seats of learning to produce quality stuff which could contribute in the future development of the country, she said and added that the present government was spending a huge amount on education.

Educational standards fell and literacy rate rose because of the wrong policies of dictators, she said and added that the Sindh government had decided to reopen all closed schools of the province to ensure children in the far-flung areas were provided equal opportunities. The vice chancellor briefed the acting governor about the salient features of the university.
