CHARSADDA: Man shot dead for ‘violating curfew’


CHARSADDA, Nov 13: An elderly person was shot dead for violating curfew amid security forces pounding militant hideouts in disputed villages on the outskirts of Charsadda on Thursday.

The security forces shot dead 50-year-old Sangeen Khan of Fatmakhel area in Sarokalley, Shabqadar, for violating curfew.

The curfew was clamped in the area after a suicide attack on army, stationed at government high school Subhan Khwar, which left four security personnel and a civilian dead.

The local administration announced closure of all education institutions in Shabqadar for indefinite period.

However, shops and bazaars remained partially opened on Thursday when curfew was relaxed for a short interval. Roads were also closed in the area.

The security forces pounded militant position in Aisha Korona, Juma Khan Korona, Shnow Ghundai and Mullah Ghani Baba areas on Wednesday night.

However, there was no report of casualty. —Correspondent
