LARKANA, Nov 12: The provincial government would investigate the case of slain leader Nawab Akbar Bugti if an FIR was lodged by his relatives against former president Pervez Musharraf, said Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani.

Talking to journalists after visiting the graves of Bhutto family on Wednesday, he said that he would talk to the prime minister in regard to rehabilitation of earthquake victims though his government was actively involved in the process.

“The provincial government will provide money to people for helping them in rebuilding razed abodes as per their needs,” he said adding that the complete assessment of the damages will be finalised by the 13th of this month.

He disclosed that countries like Saudi Arabia, China, Kuwait and the United States of America have extended financial help for the rehabilitation of affected areas. The work would begin within a couple of days.

To a question regarding meeting President Zardari, he said that positive results would emerge out of this meeting.

Later, Raisani, his brother Mir Siraj Khan Raisani and Provincial Finance Minister Muhammed Asim Kurd visited the graveyard of ‘Karsaz’ victims.

CLERKS: Members, All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) of the Population Welfare Department observed pen-down strike and held demonstration on Wednesday against ignoring the deceased-quota while making recruitments.

APCA leader Peeral Dayo and others addressing a general body alleged that 56 candidates were given jobs on political grounds thereby trampling over the merit. The government violated the agreement and gave jobs without conducting tests and interviews, they said.

They demanded scrapping away such job offers and told the authorities to follow rules and regulation by holding fresh interviews at the Secretariat instead of at district offices.

They alleged that merit was ignored and officers were called to Karachi where recruitments were done as per the already prepared list.
