KARACHI, Nov 11: The Sindh contingent which participated in the Inter-provincial Games in Peshawar remained safe in the bomb blast that took place outside the Qayyum Sports Complex on Tuesday, an official of the squad said.
“The Sindh contingent is safe and will leave for Karachi by Khushal Khan Khattak Express on Wednesday at 4.45pm,” secretary of the contingent, Ahmed Ali, told Dawn from Peshawar on Tuesday night.
He said only Sajjad Hussain, a Sindh judo player, who was close to site of the blast, was shocked and has been discharged from hospital after first aid.
Sajjad, he said, had won two bronze in the competition and had gone for ablution to offer Maghrib prayers when a suicide bomber blew himself up.
