RAWALPINDI, Nov 11: An anti-terrorism court here on Tuesday directed the superintendent of Adiala jail and SHO Sadiqabad to get an ossification test conducted on two accused in a suicide attack plot case within a week after they claimed to be juvenile.

Mohammad Ishaq and Abid Khan moved a petition in the court of ATC-II judge Sakhi Mohammad Kahot saying they were underage and should be treated under the juvenile offender law.

The two accused along with ten others - Intikhab Abbasi, Mohammad Kabir, Qamaruz Zaman, Zafar Ali, Mohammad Zameer, Mohammad Tauqir, Mohammad Sajjad, Abdul Sattar, Farhan Mehmood and Rashid Mehmood - have already been indicted for planning suicide attacks on former president Pervez Musharraf in June.

The security agencies arrested the accused from Sadiqabad on June 1 and seized three vehicles laden with over 1,000 kg explosives.

In another case, ATC-I Judge Chaudhry Habibur Rehman put off the hearing in 21 cases registered against former chief cleric of Lal Masjid, Maulana Abdul Aziz and others, till December 5 after the defence lawyer did not appear in the court.

Maulana Aziz has been granted bail in all other cases except one relating to the burning of a children’s library adjacent to the demolished Jamia Hafsa.

Meanwhile, a court bailiff recovered a five-month-old baby boy from the house of his father on the complaint of his mother. Later, the district and sessions judge, Attaullah Kosar, directed both the parents to appear in the court on November 18.—Our Reporter
