By Our Staff Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Nov 11: The civil judge and judicial magistrate-X has remanded two accused in the murder case of a student, Naveed Sheikh, to judicial custody while allowing two days time to Makki Shah investigation police to submit challan of the case.

The girl, Shagufta Ansari was sent to women’s prison while a Jordanian national, Mohammad, to central jail Hyderabad after the physical remand of both the accused expired on Tuesday. They were produced before the court by police who requested for time to submit interim challan in the matter.

Meanwhile, the exhumation of the body of Naveed Shaikh has been fixed on November 20 in Shikarpur for which a board was constituted by Chandka Medical College Larkana. It will be done in the local graveyard of Shikarpur under the supervision of civil judge and judicial magistrate-VII. Other members of the board are professors and doctors from the CMC and its teaching hospital.

The second autopsy was recommended by a medical board, formed on the request of Naveed Shaikh’s father, Bashir Shaikh as he disputed post-mortem report given by senior MLO Dr Abdul Waheed Paracha. Shaikh’s contention was “according to medical jurisprudence, diameter of the entry wound should be smaller than the exiting wound”.

Naveed Shaikh was found dead on the 7th floor of Al-Amna complex in the Hyderabad cantonment on October 27. He was in love with Shagufta Ansari but according to her, she had severed relations with him before Eidul Fitr. Mohammad said that Naveed Sheikh had asked him to come out of his flat and on his refusal, shot himself death.

Naveed believed that she was having some sort of understanding with Mohammad, her neighbour.
