THATTA, Nov 10: Apropos a new item published in Nov 5 issue of daily Dawn and captioned “Indians detain 56 fishermen,” the Maritime Security Agency has clarified that eight Pakistani fishing boats were fishing in the area off Sir Creek on November 4.
As the boats were in the disputed area, they were checked by the Indian Coast Guards and not by the Indian navy as reported.
Later the coast guards let the boats go and they safely returned, a Maritime Security Agency handout said.
