QUETTA, Nov 9: A man was killed and five others were injured when a bomb exploded in Sui town on Sunday morning.

“The bomb attached to a motorcycle parked near a restaurant in the main bazaar was detonated with a remote control,” Dera Bugti DPO Najam Tareen told Dawn.

He said the bomb exploded when a number of people were taking tea in the restaurant. The man who died belonged to the Bugti tribe.Many nearby shops were damaged by the powerful blast.

Law-enforcement personnel took the injured to a hospital.

According to the AFP, the Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the bombing.

Meanwhile, a man was killed when a landmine exploded in the Umar Khan Bugti village of Jaffarabad district on Sunday.

In another incident, people fired a rocket on the Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti village near Dera Allahyar.

The rocket exploded in an open area.
