KARACHI, Nov 9: Defending champions Shahzad Mohammadan beat District South champions Lal Bakhsh Memorial and Hyderi Baloch edged past Aurora FC in the two KASB Premier League Football (PLF) matches played at the CDGK Stadium on Saturday.

The match between Shahzad Mohammadan and Lal Bakhsh saw left winger Saleem Baloch putting Shahzad Mohammadan ahead in the 13th minute.

But Lal Bakhsh levelled in the 23rd minute through their substitute striker Nur Hussain.

Saleem Baloch brought his side ahead again in the 31st minute, only to be levelled again by Lal Bakhsh’s striker Nur Hussain in the 37th minute.

The second session saw both teams accelerating pace but no goals could be scored until the final 10 minutes when Shahzad Mohammadan’s skipper and striker Sohail Baloch (80th minute) along with fellow striker Mohammad Khan (90th minute) sealed the fate of the match to win it by 4-2.

The other match between Hyderi Baloch and Aurora FC remained barren for most of the first half until Aurora’s goalkeeper Rafiullah tried to block the opposing team’s striker Ghulam Farooq through foul play in the 43rd minute which prompted referee Khalid Mumtaz to award a penalty kick to Hyderi Baloch along with dismissing Rafiullah from the field through a red card.

Although the penalty kick taken by Hyderi’s skipper and midfielder Ijaz Bhutto was stopped by Aurora’s substitute goalkeeper Shabbir Ahmed, the rebound, cleared by Aurora’s defender Abdul Samad landed directly into the goal. The own goal cost Aurora the match.
