NAWABSHAH, Nov 8: Five people including a woman were killed and more than 30 suffered injuries when a coach overturned on the National Highway near Sakrand on Saturday.
Aneesur Rehman Channa, Ayaz Ali, Liaquat Ali, Bahadur Brohi and Ms Roshna Bibi died on the spot and Rukhsana, Dur Mohammed, Sharjeel, Saud Hassan, Manzooran Begum, Nazeer Ahmed and others whose names could not be ascertained suffered injuries.
According to reports, the driver lost control over the vehicle due to over-speeding.
Police and Edhi volunteers moved the injured to the Sakrand Taluka Hospital from where more than a dozen were later shifted to Nawabshah Medical College Hospital.
HUTS GUTTED: At least 15 huts were completely gutted when a fire broke out reportedly due to short circuit in Mian Noor Mohammed Ja Qubba village near Doulatpur on Friday night.
A large number of wheat bags stored in the huts and other valuable belongings worth thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes before the villagers extinguished the fire on self help basis. No fire tender could reach the village.
