KARACHI: Four die in accidents

KARACHI, Nov 8: Four people were killed in traffic accidents in different parts of the city on Saturday.

Quaidabad police said two young men, both in their mid-20s, were killed when a fast-moving trailer hit their motorcycle near Younus Chowrangi.

The bodies were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where the dead were identified as Ijaz Hussain and Hafiz Mohammed Fateh, residents of Madina Town, Khuldabad.

The police said the victims were factory workers and they originally hailed from Sargodha.

They said the driver of the trailer, Sarwat Khan, was booked and arrested for killing the young men by his reckless driving on the complaint of victim Ijaz’s father, Rab Nawaz.

Besides, a 55-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his motorbike rammed into the pavement on the Northern Bypass.

The Manghopir police said the body of Mohammed Musa was handed over to his family after medico-legal proceedings.

Moreover, a 17-year-old boy was knocked down by a hit-and-run vehicle near Pehlawan Goth.

The body was shifted to the JPMC where the victim was identified as Inamuddin, son of Haider Ali, resident of Malir.

The Sharea Faisal police said a case was registered against unknown driver on behalf of the state.
