KARACHI: Computerisation of ACE record ordered

KARACHI, Nov 7: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Inquiries and Anti-Corruption Gul Mohammed Laat on Friday ordered an immediate start of work for the computerisation of entire record of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), noting that the job was pending for long. He said the process should be completed within the current year.

Chairing a meeting of ACE officials in his office on Friday, the adviser said that the entire record of all the cases handled by the ACE, as well as the investigations carried out thereof and statements of the aggrieved and nominated parties should be computerized during the process.

This would help in dispensing speedy justice, keeping a watch on the performance of officials and maintaining checks and balances, he observed.

The computerisation project envisages online linkage of all divisional offices of the ACE with its head office, making it possible for top ACE officials to keep themselves fully aware of the status of investigations and fresh cases.

The adviser asked ACE officials to ensure transparency in the registration of cases, investigation and documentation of statements of the aggrieved and other parties involved in cases of corruption.—APP
