LAHORE, Nov 6: Robbers and thieves struck five times each in the city on Thursday.
Robbers looted Rs14,000 and a cell phone from Muhammad Malik in south Cantonment on Thursday, police said. Two motorcyclists stopped Malik, who was traveling in his car, on Bedian Road near Rohi drain and took away cash and cell phone at gunpoint.
In Liaqatabad, two robbers waylaid Ahsan Bhatti and looted Rs4,000 and a cell phone while in Block-A of Defence, four robbers took away Rs500 and a cell phone from Adnan Irfan.
Two robbers held Kashif Mushtaq in Akbari Gate and deprived him of Rs3,000 and a cell phone while as many robbers looted Rs10,000 and a cell phone from a man in the Lytton Road area.
THEFT: Thieves struck four houses and a shop in the city.
Burglars broke into the house of Azhar Baloch in Umor Park of Samanabad and made off with cash and gold ornaments worth Rs260,000.
Thieves also stole jewellery worth Rs200,000 from the house of Mazhar Din in Sikandar Block, Iqbal Town. The family suspected involvement of two maids -- Iqra and Fatima -- who went missing after the incident.Unidentified people sneaked into the house of o Riaz in Chah Miran and made off with cash and a television set all worth Rs175,000.
Thieves broke into the house of Naeem Niaz in Wafaqi Colony and escaped with computers and other valuables worth Rs100,000.
Unidentified people burgled the shop of Atif Akram on Alhamd Road in Iqbal Town and stole cash, a computer and a camera all worth Rs100,000.
