KARACHI, Nov 6: Five ships carrying containers and imported wheat are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where six ships, Join GR to unload wheat, Prqoud to load molasses, Hawk to offload coal, Pac Antkuam, APL Chicago and Hanjin Qingdao to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of as many on Thursday.

The departing ships were led by Nord Mermaid, Marilyn, China Star, Kapitan Byankin, Elena and APL Chicago, while Q.S.M. Dubai, PAC Antlia, Luch Arrow, Hinjin Qingdao, Nayab-1 and Gergos are due to sail out on Friday.

A total tonnage of 69,444 tons comprising 35,825 tons of export cargo including 3,923 tons of rice and 14,000 tons of cement and 33,619 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: Serpentine with 24,820 tons of impor-ted wheat, Hyundai Admiral, Y.M. Inauguration, Sima Sehba and Eric G. Gibson with containers.
