India offers more business visas

KARACHI, Nov 4: Indian Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh has hinted at the possibility of increasing the number of visa exemption stickers from 100 to 300 and issuing five-year multiple visas to businessmen of Saarc countries provided other member countries also reciprocate this gesture.

According to a fax message from the Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Indian minister was speaking at a luncheon meeting in Dhaka organised by the vice-president of Saarc chamber Nasir Hossein.

President of Saarc chamber Tariq Sayeed in his speech proposed the installation of a conveyor belt at Wagah border for quick transportation of goods between the two countries. The Indian minister agreed in principle to the proposal, the message added. —Staff Reporter
