KARACHI, Nov 4: Three ships carrying containers, wheat and diesel oil were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.Meanwhile, six more ships to load/offload containers, cement and palm oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Maersk Georgia, Sari, Karavador, Kolocep, Word Pride, AI-Soor-II, Ginga Lanner and Jarita, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, wheat, palm oil, furnace oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 119,000 tons comprising 101,000 tons of imports and 18,000 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Maaersk Novazzano and Maersk Georgia sailed out while Word Pride, Al-Soor-II and Ginga Laner were expected to leave the port.
