KARACHI, Oct 31: Retired Colonel Mohammad Amir Khan, security chief, KESC, has been named chef-de-mission of Sindh contingent for the third Inter-provincial Youth Games being held at Peshawar from Nov 9 to 11.

Other contingent officials announced on Friday include Afreen Fatima and Sana Ali (deputy chef-de-missions), Ahmed Ali (secretary), Musheer Rabbani (treasurer) and Danish Ali Khan (doctor).

As many as 310 players and officials are due to leave here for Peshawar by Khushal Khan Khattak Express on Nov 6 to feature in the games. They are to compete in 18 men’s and eight women’s disciplines.

Meanwhile, Balochistan’s participation in the games is in doldrums in the aftermath of devastation caused due to massive earthquake in the province on Wednesday that left hundreds of people dead apart from those who became homeless.

“The NWFP government should divert all funds allocated for the games to Balochistan in the larger human interest,” commented a sports organiser on condition of anonymity.
