Qamar, Fawad shine

KARACHI, Oct 31: Off-spinner Qamar Iqbal captured five wickets to spin Zone-I Whites to an 89-run victory over Zone-V Blues in the KCCA Under-17 Inter-zonal cricket tournament at the Student Ground on Thursday.

Qamar finished with five wickets for 23 while fellow off-spinner Abdullah Aslam grabbed four for 27 as Zone-V Blues were bowled out for 96 in 35.1 overs while chasing 186 for victory.

Earlier, Zone-I Whites made 185 all out in 49 overs with Usama Zubair (46) being the top scorer. Shaheen Shahab claimed four wickets for 38 while Adeel Anwar took three for 54.

In another match played at the TMC Ground, Fawad Khan captured four wickets for 12 runs and Mohammad Obaid three for 21 as Zone-VI Blues overcame Zone-IV Blues by six wickets.
