QUETTA, Oct 31: Balochistan’s Senior Minister Maulana Abdul Wasay has said that ministers belonging to his Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) party will contribute Rs30 million for quake relief from the development fund allocated to them.

Talking to newsmen here on Friday, he said that rescue and relief operations should not be politicised and the departments concerned should be allowed to supervise the work.

He said the government responded quickly to the calamity and complaints against the administration were common in such situation.

The minister said it would be difficult to carry out rehabilitation work without international help because thousands of houses had collapsed and reconstruction required huge funds.

Meanwhile, the Awami National Party, PML-Q, Al-Khidmat of Jamaat-i-Islami, Jammat Alh-i-Hidath and Balochistan National Party (Awami) have claimed providing blankets, tents, food and medicines to affected people in Ziarat district.
