KARACHI, Oct 30: Gharib Nawaz Dalmia stunned everyone by beating District East runners up Hazara Mohammadan 3-1 while FC Aurora and Usmanabad Union drew 2-2 in the two KASB Premier League Football (PLF) matches played at the CDGK Stadium on Wednesday.

The match between Gharib Nawaz Dalmia and Hazara Mohammadan was a one-sided affair with the winners leading by 2-0 at interval.

Their first goal was scored in the 21st minute through their striker Saeed Ahmed followed by the second by striker Zubair Ahmed in the 33rd minute.

The second half again had Gharib Nawaz having an upper hand by getting another goal with Hazara still looking to open their account. Gharib Nawaz’s third goal was again scored by their striker Saeed Ahmed when he dodged two of the opponents’ defenders to send the ball into the goal in the 54th minute.

Hazara Mohammadan could only score a consolation goal when referee Yunus Lal awarded them a penalty kick after a handball infringement in the 58th minute. The kick was converted by striker Kamran Ijaz.

The other match had FC Aurora’s striker Saddam Hussain scoring for them twice, one after the other, in the third and 39th minute, to give Aurora a 2-0 lead at interval.

But if the first half belonged to FC Aurora, the second was claimed by Usmanabad Union. Their comeback happened 19 minutes prior to the final whistle when first left winger Amir Ali scored in the 71st minute followed by another by left fullback Sajid Hussain Sr in the 75th minute.
