PM chief guest at Turkish ceremony

ANKARA, Oct 29: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani attended as chief guest a ceremony marking the 85th anniversary of the Turkish Republic here on Wednesday along with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Prime Minister Gilani watched a march past by the army and a fly past by the air force.

Later, Mr Gilani and members of his delegation attended a reception hosted by President Abdullah Gul.

Mr Gul said that he had been honoured to meet Mr Gilani, whose ancestors had played a significant role in the Khilafat Movement.—APP
