KARACHI, Oct 29: The third JUC Inter-school badminton tournament for boys and girls commenced at the JUC premises on Wednesday.

Three matches in boys and four in girls were decided on the opening day.

Boys team event:

The City School PAF Chapter bt Beaconhouse School System Secondary PECHS 2-0. (Faraz Butt bt Zeeshan 15-8, 15-8; Haris and Ali Zaman bt Haseeb and Zeeshan 15-12, 15-13).

Beaconhouse School System (Cambridge) PECHS bt Fahims School System A-level 2-0. (Valeed Kidwai bt Owais Memon 15-9, 15-8; Khizer and Hamza bt Uzair and Moiz 15-12, 15-5).

South Shore School bt The City School Gulshan Campus 2-0. (Ali Khawer bt Mohammad Hani 15-6, 15-10; Ali Khawer and Mudassir bt Ali Ahmed and Jazaib 15-8, 15-11).

Girls team event:

Beaconhouse School System Jubilee Campus bt Mama Parsi School 2-0. (Urooj Hashmi bt Hamdah Khan 15-5, 15-9; Urooj Hashmi and Kanwal bt Hamdah Khan and Hiba 15-9, 15-10).

Jinnah University College bt Fahims School System A-level 2-0. (Anum Shahid bt Rabia Khan 15-4, 15-9; Anum Shahid and Komal bt Ayesha and Shafaq 15-12, 15-7).
