Teachers’ seniority
A delegation of the Professors and Subject Specialists Association called on Sindh Chief Secretary Fazlur Rahman at his office on Wednesday.
The matters of recruitment in the education department, promotions, performance reports, appointment of BPS-18 subject specialists and head masters as principals in higher secondary schools, and unattractive area allowance issue were discussed in the meeting.
The chief secretary directed the education secretary to form a “review committee” for compiling a seniority list of teachers so that they could be promoted to the next scale on a seniority basis instead of any political criteria.
He told the delegation that some of the issues would be resolved through the Sindh Public Service Commission and the Sindh government would take these matters as per rules and regulations. He asked teachers to perform their duties with passion.—PPI/APP
