KARACHI, Oct 29: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where four ships carrying containers, palm oil and iron ore were accommodated on berths at QICT, MP terminal and IOCB, respectively, during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, three more ships arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period.

The berth occupancy remained at 60 per cent at the port where a total of six ships were occupying berths to load, unload containers, cement, wheat, palm oil and iron ore during the period under review.

The port handled 59,912 tons of cargo comprising 40,661 tons of imports and 19,252 tons of exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,635 Teus.

Four ships sailed out to the sea during the report period, while three more were expected to sail on Wednesday.
