KARACHI: Drive against violations of traffic rules


KARACHI, Oct 28: On the directive of Sindh Home Minister, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Traffic) on Tuesday announced that a special campaign would be launched against traffic violations from November 3.

During the campaign, action will be taken against vehicles plying on roads with party flags in violation of Rules 225-B; tinted glasses in violation of Rule 160; unregistered vehicles bearing AFR plates in violation of Rule 23; revolving lights in violation of Rule 151(9-A) of the Motor Vehicle Rules-1969; and use of fancy number plates in violation of Rules 25 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance and 32 of the Motor Vehicle Rules.

Owners of all such vehicles have been directed to rectify such violations and get their vehicles registered from the excise and taxation department before the start of the campaigns. He said action would be taken against violators by traffic police without any discrimination.—APP
