KARACHI: Parties agree on formation of standing committees

KARACHI, Oct 28: The parliamentary leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in the Sindh Assembly reached a complete understanding on formation of standing committees on Tuesday.

PPP leader and senior minister Pir Mazharul Haq and senior leader of the Muttahida Syed Sardar Ahmed in a meeting decided to form the standing committees before the next assembly session.

The minister said that leader of the opposition Jam Madad Ali could not attend the meeting because of his pre-occupation in the interior of Sindh.

However, he said, the opposition leader had sent names of their members for the proposed standing committees.

The leaders, however, agreed that a final approval would be sought from Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah before formation of the standing committees.
