French consulate clarifies

KARACHI, Oct 28: The French consulate general in Karachi has clarified a news item published in Dawn on October 25, attributed to Ambassador-designate of France to Pakistan Daniel Jouanneau saying that the issues related to the GSP-plus and Free Trade Agreement between the EU and Pakistan are still under discussion.

The consulate said the ambassador had said that a joint study is currently underway to assess the impact of preferential trade agreements on Pakistani economy and the results of the study are expected before the end of this year. —Staff Reporter
