MITHI: Loadshedding in Thar

By Our Correspondent

MITHI, Oct 27: Unannounced loadshedding for hours has dealt a deadly blow to business activities and thus led to increased unemployment and crimes in the area.

A survey carried out on Monday found that power outage for more than 10 hours daily had had a bad impact on water supply system, smooth functioning of hospitals, clinics, educational institutions, offices, chakkis, banks, radio station, hotels and tailors’ shops.

A large number of daily-wage earners have lost jobs as chakkis, sewing, welding and other machines have to remain in operational most of the time. The loadshedding has not only disturbed business and daily life activities but it has also forced people to pass sleepless nights.
