DHAKA, Oct 27: A tropical storm killed two people and injured dozens as winds of up to 80 kph lashed southern Bangladesh early on Monday, officials said.

The storm Rashmi damaged thousands of homes, brought down electrical and telephone poles and uprooted trees. It also destroyed large areas of acres of crops, officials said.

The two people were killed when their homes collapsed in a village in the coastal Bhola district 350km south of Dhaka.
