KARACHI: Transporters plan strike from 30th

KARACHI, Oct 26: Karachi Transport Ittehad has said that it has decided to start an indefinite wheel-jam strike on Thursday (Oct 30) and convened a meeting of the member transport organizations on Tuesday (Oct 28) to finalise a future line of action.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, KTI said the strike was being observed against non-payment of compensation to transporters for their vehicles set on fire on Dec 27, 2007 in violence that was sparked off in the city moments after assassination of PPP leader Benazir Bhutto in Rawalpindi.—PPI
