KARACHI, Oct 25: FIFA Technical Adviser and junior coach Holger Obermann, who is in Pakistan these days to conduct various coaching clinics under the FIFA Football for Hope Programme, will conduct a four-day coaching clinic in Karachi starting Sunday at 4.30pm at the Peoples Sports Complex.
Obermann, during his visit to Karachi, will also hold a training session for girls. The clinic concludes at the Korangi Baloch Stadium at Sharafi Goth on Oct 29.
Before arriving in the city, the 72-year-old German football coach held a three-day clinic in Rawalakot in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, which was followed by his tour of Islamabad on Oct 24.
The Karachi clinics will see him join hands with AFC coach Hassan Baloch to be followed by his trip to Mirpur Khas and Lahore.
This is Obermann’s third visit to Pakistan. He had earlier visited here in August-September 2006 and February-March 2007 on the directive of FIFA to conduct coaching clinics in the Oct 2005 earthquake-effected areas.
Holger, a former TV commentator has been traveling all over the world as a football missionary for 33 years now, which according to him is far more satisfying than a successful TV career.
