PESHAWAR: Stray bullet injures boy

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Oct 25: A ten-year-old boy was hit by a stray bullet in Sulemankhel Village in the limits of Badbher Police station who suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a local hospital, police said.

The boy Irshad son of Aslam Khan was reportedly playing with his friends outside his residence in the village when he was hit by a stray bullet.

It may be mentioned here that the police have failed to ensure prevention of firing in the air incidents in the jurisdiction of various police stations in the provincial capital.

Lack of police check on such incidents pose a serious threat to the lives of innocent people.

It has been observed that at wedding ceremonies mostly people resort to excessive firing in the air.

The incidents of firing in the air were reported from different areas including Dalazak Road, Gulberg Town, Charsadda Road, Bhana Mani, but the concerned police have denied having heard fire shots in their limits.
