Demo against outages

BAHAWALPUR, Oct 24: A large number of people protested against Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) for enforcing prolonged electricity loadshedding here on Friday.

The protesters took out a rally from Milad Chowk to Fwara Chowk and resorted to sloganeering against the government and Mepco authorities.

They staged a brief sit-in in congested Farid Gate and threw traffic out of gear.

Speaking on the occasion, the demonstrators threatened harsher action if 12-14 hours loadshedding was not reduced.
