HYDERABAD: Commercial project in residential area
Bureau Report
HYDERABAD, Oct 23: Residents of Hyderabad Bungalows staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Thursday to protest against the construction of a commercial building on Wadhu Wah road.
They raised slogans against the Al-Rehman builders and the Hyderabad Development Authority for allowing the construction of a commercial project in a residential area.
Speaking on the occasion, Jeay Sindh Students Federation leader Sooryah Sindhi and Hyderabad Bungalows Welfare Association office-bearers Zulfiqar Jagirani, Syed Anwar Ali Shah and Azeemullah Qureshi termed the construction of Zain Towers illegal, saying that according to law, a commercial project could not be launched in a residential area.
They said that the people of Hyderabad Bungalows were already suffering due to shortage of drinking water and absence of sewerage system and the construction of Zain Towers would add to their miseries.
They warned that if work on the “fraudulent project” was not stopped, consequences would be serious.
