KARACHI, Oct 22: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) beat Pakistan Steel 3-1 and Habib Bank Limited (HBL) triumphed over Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) 2-0 as the third Pakistan Premier League Football (PPFL) match between Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Afghan FC was postponed on Wednesday.

The match between NBP and Pakistan Steel at the Korangi Baloch Stadium saw the bankers getting ahead in the 22nd minute through their international striker Abbas Ali. The score at interval was 1-0. Pakistan Steel’s midfielder Naveed Raza equaled for them in the 57th minute. But NBP’s other striker Farooq Shah gave them their second goal in the 70th minute followed by yet another by Abbas in the 81st minute to seal the fate of the match.

HBL’s other goal was scored by Khayal Mohammad himself in the 75th minute.

Thursday’s fixtures: Khan Research Laboratories v Pakistan Television at the KRL Stadium, Rawalpindi; Army v Navy at the Army Stadium, Rawalpindi; Karachi Port Trust v Afghan FC at Peoples Sports Complex, Karachi. All matches will kick off at 4.00pm
